Includes a packed island lunch with fresh meats, salads, island cheeses and fresh wood oven bread. A slow-paced stunning walk towards the coastline of East Bruny Island and onto the remote beaches.
Visit the famous Get Shucked Oyster Bar & Bruny Island Honey. The walks can be modified to suit all levels of fitness. For those that are really energetic and if the group size is under 6 we will head out further to Cape Queen Elizabeth.
With a hotel pick up from over 40 locations around the greater Hobart region, this fully guided Bruny Island Nature and Bushwalking walking tour begins near the Bruny Island Neck. With spectacular views, this is an easy walk within the Bruny Island Neck Game Reserve & Penguin Rookery. Backpacks and stools provided for your ease and comfort.
The Cape Queen Elizabeth track provides coastal heathland with spectacular scenery, lagoons, birdlife and beaches. The first part of the walk takes us along a track parallel with the Bruny Island air-strip, then runs between Big Lagoon and Little Lagoon, before ascending Mars Bluff for stunning views across The Neck, mesmerising coastlines and its unspoilt beaches. Mars Bluff is one of Bruny Islands most iconic natural rock features. The track follows the bluff before descending through the dunes onto the remote Miles Beach, with time for a quick dip for those who are keen. Here you can enjoy a casual and delicious packed lunch featuring local produce, meats, salmon, cheese and more. Our guides will set up in one of the bush clearings along the way and prepare you a warm cup of tea or coffee with local fudges and chocolates to boost the energy levels.
Learn about some of the bushes and flowers along the way and how to identify the little animals by there scats. Our guides are fully trained and qualified Tasmanian Adventure Guides with a wealth of knowledge and passion for nature.
After our walk, we drive to the to the viewing platform and lookout at the Neck Wildlife Zone. Followed by a visit to the Islands local food producers, with stops at Bruny Island Honey and Get Shucked Oyster Bar.
Suitable for most ages and fitness levels.
Mars Bluff has moderate hill sections, some loose sand surfaces and formed hardened track sections. We suggest a reasonable level of fitness and experience for this walk and if you are uncertain please contact us for more advise.
