The Tasmanian crafts and produce are famous and you won't be disappointed! The setting for the markets is so beautiful and all the wonderful building add to the great atmosphere. Next you are off down the highway to Port Arthur. The scenery and photo opportunities along the way are plentiful. Two of the highlights are Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen.
This all day tour incorporates the exciting atmosphere of the Salamanca Markets, the spectacular scenery of the Tasman National Park and the intriguing history of Port Arthur travelling in comfortable modern coaches.

This exciting tour departs every Saturday from Brooke Street Pier, Hobart, at 9.15 am, with accommodation pickups available on request. Alternatively, you can make your own way to Salamanca Markets and meet your coach there – the decision is entirely yours. You’ll be delighted and pleasantly surprised at the plethora of stalls when Salamanca Place really comes alive. When the famous Salamanca Market – operated by the Hobart City Council – swings into action, there’s plenty to do for everyone!
Shop ‘til you drop or just have a leisurely wander around, perusing the 300 stallholders selling everything from fresh and gourmet produce to exquisite and unique arts, crafts and handiwork sourced from Tasmanian, national and international locales. Trendy restaurants, galleries and unique boutique shops add to the magical market atmosphere. Rated as one of the top attractions in Tasmania, this expansive market is a must for all.
Heading out on the Tasman Highway, you and your fellow intrepid explorers can sit back and relax in a comfortable modern coach, with commentary from your friendly driver. You’ll travel over the Pittwater Causeway onto Forestier Peninsula to visit Tasman National Park and this journey incorporates pristine Pirates Bay and Eaglehawk Neck.
Leisurely skirting Norfolk Bay on the Tasman Peninsula, you will visit some of the spectacular highlights of this beautiful sanctuary. You will be in awe of the wonderful views from Pirates Bay lookout. A great photo opportunity!
While here, you will visit the significant historical site of Port Arthur. With access to over 30 restored buildings and ruins – including the penitentiary, the commandant’s house, the church and a separate prison just to name a few – you can wander around and be captivated by the dramatic beginnings of our convict forefathers, in one of the earliest examples of colonial settlement in Van Diemen’s Land; now known as Tasmania. The interpretive and interactive presentations will bring an eye opening reality to the harrowing and very often hazardous life of our earliest European settlers. With plenty of time at Port Arthur Historic Site, you can immerse yourself in all aspects of its tumultuous and sometimes tragic history.
Not only do you get to enjoy the magnificent scenery on land, but you will also have the opportunity to see this vista and more on the pristine waters on Carnarvon Bay, when you experience a relaxing harbor cruise that takes you around the ‘Isle of the Dead’.
After your superb day, you’ll arrive back in Hobart and be dropped off at your original pickup location at around 6 pm. Just Brilliant!
