As you head south from Melbourne you will pass through some stunning scenery. The rugged coastline with it's colony of fur seals and beaches will create lots of photo opportunities. You visit a wildlife sanctuary to see & learn about Australian animals, and even get to feed some! The highlight occurs at sunset, watch the adorable penguins make their way home for the night. You will never forget the sight of these special little animals.
Departing Melbourne at around midday, this small group day tour encapsulates the very best of the region’s wildlife.
Leaving Melbourne we journey to see the famous Brighton Beach Boxes, one of Melbourne's most popular & colourful locations.
We then head toward Western Port Bay and stop at the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park for a unique Australian wildlife experience. Here, we’ll enjoy a guided wildlife walk where we have the opportunity to meet and hand-feed many species of native Australian animals. Learn about iconic species such as kangaroos, koalas, emus & wallabies, as well as some of our lesser known favourites including quolls, owls, bandicoots & Tasmanian devils.
Heading onwards, we driver around Western Port Bay to the town of San Remo, where we drive across the bridge and onto Phillip Island. A visit to Point Grant and The Nobbies gives us an opportunity to enjoy views over Western Port Bay and Bass Strait, including Seal Rocks, home to Australia’s largest population of fur seals.
And then it’s onwards to the main event, where just after dark every night the world’s smallest penguins waddle ashore after spending the day fishing out at sea. You’ll be truly enchanted as the stars of the show emerge from the surf and pass right before your eyes on their journey back to their homes. Your guide will ensure you are able to get the very best vantage point to enjoy the Penguin Parade.
For an exclusive viewing experience, upgrade to the more personalised “Penguins Plus” viewing platform. With numbers limited to 300, you’ll enjoy special ranger interpretation in a more natural setting.
After the parade we allow plenty of time to explore the Visitor Centre before beginning our own journey back to Melbourne.
